Hybrid Iron Graphite

Choosing the right golf clubs for your style of play is an important part of playing the game. If you're new to the game of golf you may think that all clubs are equal, but had to be totally wrong.

When golf on television seem to the untrained eye that all golfers swing clubs of the same way, but again you would be totally wrong. Each person will be a golf club in a slightly different each time you use it, and each person will also be a golf club differently than the next person. The better the golfer who is then the difference will be lower (on his own swing), with best players play shot after shot, but there will still be a small difference (which is what makes the game unpredictable.)

A swing speed faster in theory should get the ball further, but you may suffer from accuracy, while a slower speed will be more accurate, but getting a shorter distance.

Ideally that every golfer is looking for a club that is both light and precise (utopia!). You have to get the 'feel' of a club to see if the weight, balance and swing for you. The only way you will be able to judge is to try some different ones out. Ask to see different types at your local store or golf pro shop, and without using in fact you should know if "the right feel." Then you can see about using a network or in practice. "

On a personal note, I actually use steel shafts in my irons and graphite shafts in my woods and I find the combination on the right. By having the graphite shaft woods, and knowing that swing too fast with more flexible shafts is a complete disaster, which has made a huge difference in my accuracy by having to slow the swing down. Only by an exercise trial and error and test different types of axes of the club that happened to me with the clubs best for my party.

If all this sounds a bit overwhelming, do not worry too. There is much help available in all sorts of places such as your local golf shop or professional in your field of golf. Take your time and make sure you feel comfortable with the clubs you choose, you should feel natural to you as you swing.

Are you tired of shoveling snow, scraping windshields, and wading through bribes in the winter? Would you rather be able to play golf every day this winter? If so, you should consider Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, also known as Vallarta or PV by the locals. Being the same latitude as Hawaii, located on the Riviera Maya, Vallarta has an average daily temperature of 73 ° F for seven months from November to May. The average high during those months is 82 ° F while the average low is 64 ° F. During those months, there is an average of one day of rain per month, with 0.6 inches of rain, if any, will occur overnight. The weather is absolutely ideal for playing golf every day during that period of seven months.

We went to PV in 1997. There were two golf courses here at that time. One was a decent tube, at least good enough to practice and keep the swing in tact. The other was a cow pasture and really not worth playing any price. Ten years ago you never saw visitors arriving at the airport with their clubs.

Today, there are seven very fine courses in Puerto Vallarta with at least three more in the planning stage or under construction. For example, the Nicklaus course at Vista Vallarta was the scene of the 2002 World Cup, Senior Blue Agave 2006 Tour, TaylorMade Annual Tournament, the 2001 NCAA tournament, and many others. Weiskoph Course at Vista Vallarta is probably favored by most locals because of its beautiful design, and risk-reward holes. Both courses are based in the foothills of the Sierra Madre, with elevation changes and the abundance of bougainvillea and other natural vegetation.

These two courses at Vista Vallarta is what you would expect in paradise, but only four miles from the PV airport. The Nicklaus Course at the Four Seasons in Punta Mita stretches along the ocean side and has what is believed to be the only natural island green in golf. In fact, hole # 3 has two greens, 3a and 3b. The natural green island, 3a, can only be played while the tide is low because there is no access to it when the tide is in! There are two fine golf in the area of New Vallarta to El Tigre, designed by Von Hagge being preferred by the locals. Marina Vallarta, an area of Joe Finger, is a true test of skill that requires accurate shots iron.

This course is located on Banderas Bay near the marina and has lakes and water comes into play in at least half the holes. Bring plenty of balls, and yes, watch out for crocodiles! The Flamingo course designed by Percy Clifford and located about five miles north of the airport was original course in PV. Ten years ago, was rated one notch above a cow pasture, however, five years ago, millions of dollars are invested in the course of exceedance, a masterpiece that is enjoyed by all. A new Greg Norman course is well along its path toward wholeness, north of Punta Mita on the coast of Ocean Pacific, and there are two or three more courses in the planning or design stage along the Riviera Nayarit.

Travel 80 miles south of energy PV, a couple of the best kept secrets in the world of golf. Barre de Navidad, by Von Hagge and El Tamarindo, a masterpiece of Robert Trent Jones, two courses are really great, rarely visited by anyone. They care to perfection, lightly played, located in the Pacific Ocean, and ready for any avid golfer willing to driving the scenic road south of Vallarta.

All courses in the area are available to the public, offering memberships to residents or packages to visitors. Guests at most local hotels receive discounts every day. With virtually no chance of rain and temperatures absolutely perfect, every day throughout the winter is perfect for golf.
During the ten years that we lived in Puerto Vallarta, we spent only four whole summer, June through October, here. They are harsh, with temperatures and humidity similar to Houston. Temperatures are near 90 ° F and it rains almost every other night, usually between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM. During those four "low season" summers, we could not play golf only twice and both times were due to waste water from rain the night before. It seldom rains in the day during the summer months and the courses are virtually wide open to play.

For those of you who care about water, clean food, safety or the language barrier in Mexico, do not! Forget the myths "do not drink the water" and "be careful what and where to eat." The entire water system, PV has been purified for about seven years, equivalent to the U.S.. There are hundreds of fabulous restaurants in Vallarta with all kinds of cuisine imaginable. Grocery stores are on a par with Safeway and Kroger in the States and with Sam's Club a mega Walmart, everything is available in Vallarta. Most young people are speaking English, as all taxi drivers, waiters, and of course, caddies. Safety and cleanliness are of high priority to native Mexicans, ensuring all visits by tourists.

In short, the next winter when you've had enough cold and blizzards, consider Vallarta for a vacation playing golf. You will not find a more hospitable climate or people in the world.
