Driver Wood Shaft

We've been talking about ignition systems and repair, but an important component is the elimination of the wheel. Especially if you have an engine; points. Typically, the points are below the steering wheel, and when they go wrong, the wheel must be removed.

You will discover that the flyers have restraint illusory, particularly rewind systems that include ball bearings.

You'll also discover that once they find a way to eliminate "rewind zipper system 'that sets the wheel pretty hard on the crankshaft.

Note that the wheel has fins on it. If you break any of these fins, the engine must be out of balance and vibrate intensely. If the fins are broken, the wheel is junk, so watch around the fins.

To remove the "tooth rewind" use a wrench and a screwdriver. The wrench is placed in the "fast rewind Cog and the screwdriver is inserted between the fins of cast iron. (Note: no fins aluminum, stay away from them, it will break)

Rotate the crankshaft so that the screwdriver is pressed against a stationary object. Another method that is more lenient, is chock a block of wood (this works best when the engine is mounted on the engine mounts on the Go Kart), under the steering wheel. This acts as a brake wedge.

Press gently on the pipe wrench. Excessive force is not needed here. The "Cog rewind" usually comes was easier then.

A note on the sprocket "rewind": Unless you like chasing the ball bearings on the floor, have note that normally a screen covering the rewind. Remove the screen, but retaining screws put in place immediately. This makes the "gear rewind" stay together, and also access the pipe wrench.

Then, the flywheel is stuck in the shaft with a press fit. In fact, the steering wheel pressure adjustment using a cone opening the crankshaft. The goal is to "pop" the adjustment of the press. To do so, in general, shock needs to be placed in the system.

There are two methods that work best. First shock at the end of the crankshaft with a very difficult piece of wood and a mallet. Note: Do not use steel on steel, the end of the crankshaft will be multiplied over and become unusable. Repair is usually not feasible.

There are tools available that is placed on the end of the crankshaft, but can even damage the crankshaft. So be careful to use the crank hits minimum. And if I do not understand, beatings are normal, or perpendicular, or axially on the crankshaft, not the side of the crank, but to the end of it.

Sometimes that does not work. If the engine has sat for years, or more than 10 years of age, the handle is partially oxidized at the wheel.

Use a penetrating oil little on the steering wheel and pedals of the interface.

Then remove the back of the steering wheel, very gently and evenly with a flat head screwdriver, or even prybar one. Very light action is needed. If you're reefing on the screwdriver, there is something wrong. (something else is holding the flywheel on!)

The wheel should "pop" out at once, so be sure to catch it before it goes flying and falls to the ground. I suggest having a system to capture, such as rags or cardboard.

To reinstall the wheel put it back the same way they broke up. Use the pipe wrench and screwdriver method to push the "rewind gear.

Again, do not over tighten the "rewind COG." They also note that the machine was put in place.

Just as a note margin, the only real reason for a flywheel must be removed in modern style magnet motors is whether the key is sheared. If the mode key that you should look sheared in other areas in the engine damage ...
